Hawala trade

A way to transfer value between parties, not explicitly illegal, but users of the system value the lack of transparency and receipts. Definitely not FinCen approved.

One way to move a load of currency without a needing a suitcase

Showing this is easier than writing it out. Hawala is the term for a trade network that uses multiple brokers operating on an honor system to record transactions and transfer assets between parties, including across international boundaries. In some countries it’s an informal banking system with little to no government oversight. Generally, a user that wants to send currency to 3rd party would deliver funds to a hawaladar in one place; that hawaladar would receive the currency, record the transaction and arrange a pick up between the 3rd party and another hawaladar. The second hawaladar would deliver funds to the 3rd party and record the debt for future accounting or transactions.
