Frequently Asked Questions
We are often asked...
When visuals are treated as decoration, they can distract. When they’re designed intentionally, they become one of the most effective tools for reinforcing key ideas. Strong visuals reduce cognitive load, focus attention, and help complex information stick. Our approach treats visuals as part of the communication strategy, not decoration. Every graphic we provide is built to clarify, support, and strengthen the underlying argument, not compete with it.
We support cases across a wide range of practice areas including complex civil and criminal litigation. We are particularly skilled in financial cases involving money laundering, fraud and corruption. Regardless of subject matter, we can help you communicate complex information clearly and persuasively.
Support can begin at any stage, from grand jury and discovery and up to and including trial. Many clients engage early to help shape visual strategy and narrative structure, while others come on board closer to hearings or trial dates for focused exhibit and presentation work.
Projects typically begin with a short consultation to understand goals, deadlines, and key case information. From there, we define scope and deliverables, deep dive with your presenters to learn as much about the case as possible. Then we develop initial concepts, and refine visuals through review rounds. Final files are delivered in formats ready for courtroom presentation.
Yes. In addition to design execution, we collaborate on visual strategy, narrative sequencing, and how exhibits support overall case themes. This ensures visuals reinforce the story you’re telling.
Turnaround depends on case complexity and court dates, but smaller projects often begin within a few days of approval. Larger trial packages are typically scheduled at least 6-12 weeks ahead of need-by dates. Rush support during trials are available when bandwidth allows.
We offer both project-based and hourly services, depending on the needs of the case. Pre-trial design work such as timelines, demonstratives, and simple presentation decks are typically offered as a flat-fee package with defined deliverables and include two rounds of revisions. For larger cases or in-trial service needs, work is billed hourly on retainer. This allows for fast-turnaround support when exhibits or presentations need to adapt in real time. Rush requests are accepted whenever scheduling permits, with transparent rates and clear communication about scope and deadlines.
Yes. While most work can be handled effectively through remote collaboration, in-person meetings can be helpful for case preparation, review sessions, or working through complex materials. When appropriate, on-site meetings can be arranged at the client’s request. Travel time and expenses are billed separately and discussed in advance.
No. Not So Rando focuses on design and visual strategy, not live courtroom operation. All deliverables are prepared to integrate seamlessly with TrialDirector, Sanction, or other presentation workflows managed by your trial team or vendor.
Confidentiality is taken seriously. NDAs are available before any files are shared, and all materials are handled securely using trusted cloud-based content management systems. Materials are used only for the purpose of supporting your case.
